Happy New Year, Minion Horde!

2008 has been a fangtastic year! NINTH GRADE SLAYS debuted, EIGHTH GRADE BITES was nominated for a Truman Readers Award, Scholastic Book Fairs not only started selling EIGHTH GRADE BITES, but also came out to film me for an author video, not to mention how many Minions I've had the pleasure of meeting and all the other amazing stuff that's happened to me this year. Oh yeah, 2008 was a goodie, for sure.

But I must say...I'm looking forward to 2009.

We have TENTH GRADE BLEEDS to look forward to, the paperback of NINTH GRADE SLAYS, 24 million of you will see my Scholastic author video, and countless more Minions will be added to the Horde. Not to mention the INCREDIBLE contests I have planned for the new year. And the fangtastic TENTH GRADE BLEEDS launch party.

2009 is looking like a good year.

So, my Minions, what happened in 2008 that you are grateful for? What do you hope will happen in 2009? Auntie Heather doesn't make resolutions. Do you? What are they?

Happy New Year, Minion Horde!

2008 for me has been pretty awesome :) I went to Baltimore for an Anime Convention and met one of my idols of the art world! I got into the Vlad series, which of course is fangtabulous, I've had good success with my Japanese class at school which is a relief because I'm not usually good at languages, and I can't find too much the complain about except for the fact that we haven't gotten any snow where I am yet -_- But, alas, I'll just have to deal. Here's to hoping for a good 2009 for everyone! :)

Hm, maybe I should make a resolution not to ramble so much? xD

Hmmmm... this year was VERY full, I started really writing fanfiction this year, drawing more, got into a few different crazy fandoms (Batman!), read a lot of good books, met a few nice people, reached some goals, and settled into a new church(the end of last year saw my family basically being kicked out of our old one.) I look forward to much more writing (maybe even typing out a whole story perhaps), drawing, bonding, reading, I could go on.

Hm, new years resolutions? Maybe write something romantic. I've never really done that before, or dye my hair... Hey, I might even get a cellphone!(my sister got hers when she was fourteen.) The last one I'm not very ecstatic about though...

And... maybe talk less. *laughs*

I make resolutions...then never keep them.

My resolutions for next year:
-Actually have my first story done and edited
-Work on my next story and possibly have it done before the end of the year
-Get good grades in school
-Have a lot of vampire series books. (I already have two shelves full of vampire books)
-Get better at drawing and writing

Meh....I'll probably do..half of these.

3. We found this really awesome home schooling thing were home schoolers from across the country come and study Atonomy and disect real human bodys XD for when i'm in 9th grade.

4. I got into Soccer.

Though some bad things happened such as

-I need braces and will be getting them in the new year.

-I might need glasses and I'm going to the eye docter some time in the new year.

-I have some problems breathing, i get short of breath and i will need to see a docter cause of that..

Glasses and braces aren't bad, I have friends who've had both. Think of glasses as frames for your eyes, and braces will make your teeth nice and straight.

Juno taught that I don't need to be labeled.

I know Rj, its not having them that kinda worrys me, its they way i'll talk when i have braces, and breaking my glasses...... ya'know?

I loved it, though a lot of people were ruined on it by the beginning.

My braces friends didn't talk weirdly, and if you're careful then you won't break them (plus they make straps to put around them so you don't lose 'em.)

Well, usually nothing exciteing or great happens in my life but 2008 had a few good things. Like I went on a real vacation for the first time (while going to a non-neghboring state as well) in Tennessee. Also, I started highschool. And I think I got lucky, too. I was suppose to have this aweful teacher for next semester after the break (not aweful as mean, aweful as in bad teaching) but she got fired on the last day before the break (as I heard and hope is true). All her students got bad grades, I heard that when she had someone teach for a few minutes they learned more in those few minutes than the rest of the week.O_o So that would be a lucky break of the year 2008. (hey, that rhymed)
As for resolutions... don't do those either. :|

Yeah, well this computer is brand new.

I know, but Windows despises me and my family, and Mac seems to not (my sister has a Macbook). Plus it would save a lot of time putting up things like internet routers ad security systems when Macs are Wifi and guarded on most sides.

Good news update: got Open Office and firefox working, bad news? still no sound.

Thanks Auntie Heather, if I dressed Goth everyday, in everyway, you'd be invited to my funeral..../: almost my whole family -except my parents and brothers, my parents would just hate what i am, not me- would hate me.... and my ear drums would explode every second of the day..... wrose part is some people think that i'm trying to rebel against them, i guess they just don't want to see that i really am like this....

I don't think that 'rebellious' is what it used to be. Rebellious people used to be the kids going out and making wrong choices, nowadays I think the rebel is the one who doesn't.

666 was for biblical reasons, the number of the beast, the beast is the devil, 2012 is over the Mayan calender ending if I'm not mistaken, which is something I'm not going to stake as hard in, I believe the Bible over a long gone civilization, and the Bible never said that the world would end ON 666... annnnnndddd.... What People Are Saying About 'Eighth Grade Bites'

"A spooky mystery that's funny, gruesome, heartwarming, spellbinding, sad, joyous, surprising and topped off with a tasty blend of blood and chocolate. Yum. What more could you ask for?" ~D.J. MacHale, New York Times-bestselling author of PENDRAGON: JOURNAL OF AN ADVENTURE THROUGH TIME AND SPACE

"'Eighth grade Bites' had me on the edge of my seat. It's a great piece of fiction. It drops you right into the action, grabs you by the throat (pun intended), and won't let go. Vladimir Tod is a truly sympathetic character cursed with an existence not of his own doing, but doing his best to do the right thing. It's part 'Goosebumps' mixed with 'Harry Potter' and a dash – no, a heaping tablespoon – of Stephen King. If you're in eighth grade, or a vampire, or an eighth grade vampire, 'Eighth Grade Bites' is a definite must read!"~Butch Hartman, creator of Nickelodeon's THE FAIRLY ODD PARENTS and DANNY PHANTOM

"Eighth Grade Bites is a terrific vampire tale told with a sharp, middle-school grin. It definitely does not bite!" ~Christopher Moore, author of BLOODSUCKING FIENDS and A DIRTY JOB

"Eighth Grade Bites is a delightful novel filled with dark, biting humor that will appeal to everyone who ever felt they were different. A deft hand at depicting the angst of teen years, Heather Brewer does a wonderful job blending vampire legend with the modern day horror that strikes fear in the heart of so many: the eighth grade."~Katie MacAlister, New York Times-bestselling author of EVEN VAMPIRES GET THE BLUES

"Heather Brewer has invented the most endearing of vampires in Vlad, an eighth grader juggling the woes of adolescence with the decidedly unique difficulties of being a vampire. She perfectly captures the humor and angst of eighth grade, mixed with a nail-biting adventure. Utterly charming and irresistible!" ~Liza Conrad, author of HIGH SCHOOL BITES: THE LUCY CHRONICLES

"This book will fool you. Just when you think you've identified it as a story lit by the cheery glow of a slightly scary jack-o-lantern, it becomes something else -- a tale told by the flickering light of a dying campfire late at night. And the shadows are very dark indeed. A surprising mix of humor and horror." ~Douglas Rees, author of VAMPIRE HIGH

"Fresh and fast-paced, with just the right brew of chills and laughs. I’m looking forward to finding out what happens when Vlad hits Grade Nine." ~Nancy Baker, author of KISS OF THE VAMPIRE

"A fabulous book from a gifted storyteller! I never wanted it to end." ~Gena Showalter, author of OH MY GOTH
