well, i'm reading twilight. i'm not very far in the book and i already hate it. the first chapter is such a waste. all bella, is that her name?, all bella does is go on about how she hates the town she's moving back to and how she cried herself to sleep and how i think it's edward is giving her the evil eye and how she cries when she's angry. a huge waste. so i'm not gonna see. my friend is obsessed with twilight. she's going tonight with some of her friends to actually watch it, then she's going tomorrow with some friends that want to make fun of it. sorry for rambling.

Actually, believe it or not, I liked it. I was expecting an epic fail, which is probably why I liked it so.

I think it's worth the money, though don't you not like it? It's surprisingly accurate, so you probably wouldn't like it.

Happy birthday Vlad, have lots of cake and whatever else you like to eat.

P.S. Take A Bow by Muse is like the best song ever.

Happy birthday Vlad! ^_^ And Late happy birthday Jacob! I was busy, so I'm pretty late on that, oops ^^;

I'm going to see the Twilight movie in a little less than two hours. Even though I don't like the books (though I do love to hate them, no offense to any twilight fans) a bunch of my friends are going and I haven't been out to see a movie for a looooong time, so I figured I'd tag along.

And I love that song too, RJ! Muse is awesome :D

Happy B-day Vlad!!! Wow, November 21st? I never would've guessed. I always thought it was...October...

Anyway, I'm not so into Twlight. I like it, sure, just not so much as the crazed people at my school do. >_> And I read the books so I thought I might as well see the movie. I thought the actors were really bad though. Edward looks too old. Bella girl's a bad actress. Carlisle looks like a Ken Doll. Esme's not so pretty. Jasper looks like he's surprised by everything (wide eyes). In fact, the thing that's mostly making me go see it is that my friend is making me, and so I can laugh at it. ^ ^

If you liek teh book see hte movie, if not then don't...unless your beign dragged by soem friends to see it liek me.
I' m in teh middle of it too, and i'm not a big fan honestly...the only reason i have the book is cause i got it as a birthday gift...long story on that one.
But, if you do liek teh book, that's good for you. Just please stop pushign teh book onto others!

I've never made someone read it, or told them to, I've suggested it, if you think suggesting things is harassment then that's you. And I really hate talking about it, anyone I've talked to about it either hates it or loves it and has really strong things to say about it, strong things that I don't care to hear. Which is annoying. And people have been acting like it's a sin to like it. Which is offensive.

4:52 PM

I didn't mean suggesting, i meant the forcing to read the book (liek givign it as a birthday gift). It's good to express your opinions ona book, but not good when you are dayign how almighty great it is, which most of my friends have done.
it's a matter of opinion. Honestly, if you want to talk abotu, go ahead, i'm not tellign you to stop. All i'm sayign is don't make soemoen else feel really bad that they haven't read it.

I went to the premiere of Twilight, and coming from a guy who enjoyed the book (Only read the first one) I thought the movie was AMAZING!!!!!! I want to see it again... and I just saw it yesterday 0_0
But ya... you should go. The casting was perfect in my opinion, all the characters worked perfectly. And they stuck really close to the book. Really good job.
I even wore my vampire fangs and minion bling to the premiere :)=

Anyways, Jess, I haven't done that, and your friends have wronged you by doing it. They're being pretty bad sports about it, though getting someone who likes to read a book for their birthday doesn't sound bad, were they pressuring you to read it or something?

Bleh, your cousin sounds like a... gothist or something (like a racist, except against goth people).

I looked up 'goth' online and found the result as 'Someone who is unique and not afraid of being disliked for it' or something to that extent, which I've also read as the meaning of 'superchick'.

My parents have strong opinions against publicly considered 'evil' things, like vampires or 'goths'.

Which words were wise?

1:18 PM
Blogger Heather Brewer said...

That's a very general description, but a good start it has stylistic beginnings in punk. (Auntie Heather has been goth since there were goths)

These words were wise, RJ: I haven't done that, and your friends have wronged you by doing it. They're being pretty bad sports about it, though getting someone who likes to read a book for their birthday doesn't sound bad

I see I see I see. Thank you. Well if you go to Urban Dictionary (I got to it with the searching thing that just redirects to a page via Firefox... google probably would work) and search for 'goth' then you will find paragraphs upon paragraphs that define it in much more detail.

A 'better' Christian? O.o

Wow, Camidee I totally agree with you Hollywood has a really great way of screwing movie/books up. Sorry don't mean to switch the topic off the goth thing. But does it really matter if your a goth or not, or even what a goth is? I mean who really cares, it's what you are not what you're labeled.

Minion 38-14 has it: labels are for soup cans and they DON'T MATTER. What matters is what kind of person you are and how you treat others. Tolerance, my Minions, in incredibly important. Practice it.

By the way, Minion 38-14, sweet of you to ask. My bug is on its way out. Just a bit of a cough now. I'm so relieved! It's so difficult to write when I'm sick.

your right auntie, and minion 38-14. it gets really stupid when someone labels you, if you wanna label yourself go ahead, but it usually feels like your getting a sticker put of your forehead saying "HI, I AM......" whatever they label you to be.

Back on the tolerance thing, a lot of my life involves tolerance, I would love to just tell people exactly how wrong they are about something, but then they would neither listen to me or ever trust me again, which is really really very sad.
On labels, I've been labeled once, as 'quiet'. The person and I aren't exactly tight, as you can see.

12:05 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

My label is 'Random emo girl'....soemwhat accurate but i am not emo...to me at least.
I have tolerence only for little kids cause they don't know any better. Anyone else i have to really keep it in tight, and it's not that easy for me either.

What People Are Saying About 'Eighth Grade Bites'

"A spooky mystery that's funny, gruesome, heartwarming, spellbinding, sad, joyous, surprising and topped off with a tasty blend of blood and chocolate. Yum. What more could you ask for?" ~D.J. MacHale, New York Times-bestselling author of PENDRAGON: JOURNAL OF AN ADVENTURE THROUGH TIME AND SPACE

"'Eighth grade Bites' had me on the edge of my seat. It's a great piece of fiction. It drops you right into the action, grabs you by the throat (pun intended), and won't let go. Vladimir Tod is a truly sympathetic character cursed with an existence not of his own doing, but doing his best to do the right thing. It's part 'Goosebumps' mixed with 'Harry Potter' and a dash – no, a heaping tablespoon – of Stephen King. If you're in eighth grade, or a vampire, or an eighth grade vampire, 'Eighth Grade Bites' is a definite must read!"~Butch Hartman, creator of Nickelodeon's THE FAIRLY ODD PARENTS and DANNY PHANTOM

"Eighth Grade Bites is a terrific vampire tale told with a sharp, middle-school grin. It definitely does not bite!" ~Christopher Moore, author of BLOODSUCKING FIENDS and A DIRTY JOB

"Eighth Grade Bites is a delightful novel filled with dark, biting humor that will appeal to everyone who ever felt they were different. A deft hand at depicting the angst of teen years, Heather Brewer does a wonderful job blending vampire legend with the modern day horror that strikes fear in the heart of so many: the eighth grade."~Katie MacAlister, New York Times-bestselling author of EVEN VAMPIRES GET THE BLUES

"Heather Brewer has invented the most endearing of vampires in Vlad, an eighth grader juggling the woes of adolescence with the decidedly unique difficulties of being a vampire. She perfectly captures the humor and angst of eighth grade, mixed with a nail-biting adventure. Utterly charming and irresistible!" ~Liza Conrad, author of HIGH SCHOOL BITES: THE LUCY CHRONICLES

"This book will fool you. Just when you think you've identified it as a story lit by the cheery glow of a slightly scary jack-o-lantern, it becomes something else -- a tale told by the flickering light of a dying campfire late at night. And the shadows are very dark indeed. A surprising mix of humor and horror." ~Douglas Rees, author of VAMPIRE HIGH

"Fresh and fast-paced, with just the right brew of chills and laughs. I’m looking forward to finding out what happens when Vlad hits Grade Nine." ~Nancy Baker, author of KISS OF THE VAMPIRE

"A fabulous book from a gifted storyteller! I never wanted it to end." ~Gena Showalter, author of OH MY GOTH
