What People Are Saying About 'Eighth Grade Bites'
"A spooky mystery that's funny, gruesome, heartwarming, spellbinding,
sad, joyous, surprising and topped off with a tasty blend of blood and
chocolate. Yum. What more could you ask for?" ~D.J. MacHale,
New York Times-bestselling author of PENDRAGON: JOURNAL OF AN ADVENTURE
THROUGH TIME AND SPACE
"'Eighth grade Bites' had me on the edge of my seat. It's a
great piece of fiction. It drops you right into the action, grabs
you by the throat (pun intended), and won't let go. Vladimir Tod
is a truly sympathetic character cursed with an existence not of
his own doing, but doing his best to do the right thing. It's part
'Goosebumps' mixed with 'Harry Potter' and a dash – no, a heaping
tablespoon – of Stephen King. If you're in eighth grade, or
a vampire, or an eighth grade vampire, 'Eighth Grade Bites' is a
definite must read!"~Butch Hartman, creator of Nickelodeon's
THE FAIRLY ODD PARENTS and DANNY PHANTOM
"Eighth Grade Bites is a terrific vampire tale told with a
sharp, middle-school grin. It definitely does not bite!" ~Christopher
Moore, author of BLOODSUCKING FIENDS and A DIRTY JOB
"Eighth Grade Bites is a delightful novel filled with dark,
biting humor that will appeal to everyone who ever felt they were
different. A deft hand at depicting the angst of teen years, Heather
Brewer does a wonderful job blending vampire legend with the modern
day horror that strikes fear in the heart of so many: the eighth
grade."~Katie MacAlister, New York Times-bestselling author
of EVEN VAMPIRES GET THE BLUES
"Heather Brewer has invented the most endearing of vampires
in Vlad, an eighth grader juggling the woes of adolescence with the
decidedly unique difficulties of being a vampire. She perfectly captures
the humor and angst of eighth grade, mixed with a nail-biting adventure.
Utterly charming and irresistible!" ~Liza Conrad, author of
HIGH SCHOOL BITES: THE LUCY CHRONICLES
"This book will fool you. Just when you think you've identified
it as a story lit by the cheery glow of a slightly scary jack-o-lantern,
it becomes something else -- a tale told by the flickering light
of a dying campfire late at night. And the shadows are very dark
indeed. A surprising mix of humor and horror." ~Douglas
Rees, author of VAMPIRE HIGH
"Fresh and fast-paced, with just the right brew of chills and
laughs. I’m looking forward to finding out what happens when
Vlad hits Grade Nine." ~Nancy Baker, author of KISS OF THE
VAMPIRE
"A fabulous book from a gifted storyteller! I never wanted
it to end." ~Gena Showalter, author of OH MY GOTH |

Aw, I hope you're able to figure it out, Auntie! Good luck :) And I'm sure everyone won't mind waiting for that surprise; just take your time :)
I know the feeling, I felt it on Friday.
Except, of course, my writing is pretty inferior to yours, what with it being fan fiction mostly.
Perhaps turning on music or getting up and walking around for a bit will help?
AVL, i know what you mean. my mom and Hot Topic don't mix.:P
-amanda^^
my whole family LOVES hot topic!!! i'm the only girl in my class that likes hot topic. all the other girls say that the music and store scare them. oh please!!! that place is so awesome!!!
oh, auntie, that would be so awesome if your eyes really were bleeding. it would be painful, but it would make a great story to tell all your loyal minions!!!
I have been looking at way too many cynical online artwork lately to like Hot Topic ('posers' they say, but aren't we all a little bit poser?) plus my sister likes it and there is a bunch of stuff there that frightens me there.
Eyeballs!? Bleeding!? thats something you might wanna have your doctor check out. ;)=
lol, minion 38-14. how does it frighten you? like, what frightens you?
Some of the inventory is demonic.
I want to go to Hot Topic so bad! i've been to busy to really go out...
I hope u find an idea soon, before ur eyes really do bleed...that'll jsut be to awful to see...
I'm so tired that my thoughts are jsut ramblign otu into incoherent things...
Aybody here still have any candy left?
Jess
I do I do I do!!
Not that I'm excited or anything... *shifty eyes*
Haha, my verification thing is 'courpse' like.. you know... corpse...
Hope you get your muse going Heather! I'm sure the story will turn out just right in the end ^^
Got blood Auntie Heather?
good luck auntie! i know you can do it, but perhaps taking a little break would make you feel better?
Take a nap, that's what i woudl do if i was you...i would actually takea nap anyway, but whatever.
Jess
My living room is more demonic than Hot Topic. Heck, my bathroom towels are more demonic.
Or are you referring to the Hello Kitty stock? ;)
I'm referring to the Hello Kitty stock, and everything in the store that reminds me of Slipknot. Call me a wuss.
Oh yeah, just in case anyone saw the comment on the other blog post with the Quote Of The Day, Today's is...
"I think I have a paper splinter."
If you didn't, then never mind.
demonic??? okay, so some of their stuff is a little...different...but their stuff is so awesome!!!
All i want is to take a look...anythign dark is kewl with me...
Anyoen here likes Zummiez? or do i need to pay attention to clothes and store stuff more?
Jess
Please, for the sake of having company when all the latest STUFF turns everyone into zombies, you don't, Jess.
P.S. I lost the link to my profile and am too lazy to go get it back, not that anyone noticed.
Oh, good. thnx rj...it;s hard tryign to keep in touch with the clothes and stuff. I'l jsut where my old worn clothes...and other clothes that suit my style ;)
Jess
Go you! IN things are kind of tacky every now and again anyway.
your living room is more demonic than hot topic??? i must see it!!! when can i come visit??? ;P
hey, my older brother listens to slipknot!!! their music is...different...but cool...and different...
Everyone must decide for themselves what's in and what's out, Minions. Personally, I dig a lot of what Hot Topic has to offer. I also dig what Target has to offer...and Goodwill. Auntie Heather is neither an anarchist or a trend follower. She's just Auntie Heather. ;)
I've been good, AVL, how are you?
nato - Always. ;)
I don't know what I dig right now. I haven't gotten new stuff for a while.
i like dark clothing basically...and anything comfortable enough to wear...
No! i almost burned my breakfast again! If i burned this again this would be my fourth time burning it in two weeks...
srry for getting off topic :P
Blergh, burnt breakfast is awful >_<
I guess I dig dark clothes... all light clothes are see through...
Yeah, light colors are annoying.
My lunch was awful too...today isn't a good food day :P
Jess
So does that mean gray is the border line?
...yeah, sort of
Jess
If you can't see any skin underneath the fabric or too much skin isn't uncovered then it's except able.
Yay, I killed the conversation!
You have no idea how good I am at doing this!
i ♥ dark clothes. i really don't care what's in or out.
...i'm so far behind in the conversation...
We're still talkign about clothes?
Jess
