I Found Him (also, come hang with me in Texas)

DUDE. Minions. I found him.

I get asked all the time who I would like to portray Vlad if a movie is ever made, and until now, I've always said that I'd like an unknown. But today I found him. His name is Alex Evans, and he could so be Vlad.
Now if I can only line up Ryan Reynolds to play Otis and Gary Oldman to portray Vikas, I'll be in business...

In other news, Auntie Heather is going to Texas!!! You should come see me - I'll be at the Euless Public Library (which is a Dallas suburb) on October 13th at 6pm. Here's the contact info: 201 North Ector Drive, Euless, TX 76039 Phone: 817.685.1493 Barnes & Noble is going to be there with books for purchase and I'll have all sorts of goodies, so you don't wanna miss this. Mark your calendars!

Texas!? So close... T_T I hope you can come to Louisiana sometime Auntie. I would love to meet you, you'd be the first author I've ever met! I wish I could've met Anne Rice, but she moved to California with her son... Oh well, I like you better as an author anyway. ^^

Alex is a pretty good choice for Vlad. But you're going to Texas!? NNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!:(=

Ooooh, Curtis Ward is a good choice too! Uber hottie.

Plus, if there ever is a movie, they'll have to show Vlad's face. I mean, come on, Minions - a whole movie with him in shadows? That just wouldn't work.

To me, Drake Bell is Henry. As for Nelly, I always kinda pictured Maura Tierney (from ER and that movie with Jim Carrey, Liar, Liar).

ooh Drake Bell would be a good henry. Ugh, I wish Texas wasn't so far away. I really want to meet you Auntie!

now that you mention it, drake bell would make a great henry. cool, popular, awesome hair. they have so much in common! i realize that if there is a movie, they'll have to show his face sometime, but still, i think he's cooler faceless.

Blergh, I can't find him on IMDB. And that displeases me.

Naturally, I didn't picture those actors as those characters, but 'tis only logical.

And I'm about four-or-so states off of Texas. Sorry.

Well I don't see Drake Bell as Henry...maybe it's the hair color? I think that's a big part of it.

But Maura Tierney could do Nelly, I've really never pictured Nelly so it's a hard one for me to pick.

SQEEEEEE! i love alex evans!

Anutie should play as Nelly, it's makes sense cause who really knows Nelly better then Anutie? That's right nobody, and it would have that weird "i think i've seen them from somewhere?" effect.

Wow, he would make a very good Vlad. Pretty eyes...pretty, pretty, pretty....*shakes head* Sorry. >_> Anyway, I always visioned him to look a lot younger and baby cute. :3 But, I guess the Vlad I invisioned may have been better for a 12-year-old... Still, Alex Evans would be great for Vlady. X3

3:27 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

His eyes........ wow........ he would be perfet to play Vlad! After Texas, come to SC. This state is better :). Well, actually, it's not. It's pretty boring....

If a Vlad movie isn't made in the next 2 1/2 years(or maybe just 2), I'm going to make one myself and send it to you.

But anyway, I think that authors should have more say in what their books look like in movie form, I mean, some book-movies are grossly different than the book. Just a thought, you know....

3:14 PM
Blogger Heather Brewer said...

That would rock, RJ. Unfortunately, atht's not the case. So we authors just have to trust the movie people to do a good job.

ooo, that sucks! pun... sorry. I think Alex Evans is the most probable half vampire boy I've ever seen, what if he is!? O-O I also think authors should have more say in what happens in the movie... Hey! I have a plan! Why don't you direct it? Or try to see if you can find a minion in the movie world? I'm sure theres like, 2000000000000000000000000000000000000000
But if there is not, may I suggest Tim Burton *grin*

What People Are Saying About 'Eighth Grade Bites'

"A spooky mystery that's funny, gruesome, heartwarming, spellbinding, sad, joyous, surprising and topped off with a tasty blend of blood and chocolate. Yum. What more could you ask for?" ~D.J. MacHale, New York Times-bestselling author of PENDRAGON: JOURNAL OF AN ADVENTURE THROUGH TIME AND SPACE

"'Eighth grade Bites' had me on the edge of my seat. It's a great piece of fiction. It drops you right into the action, grabs you by the throat (pun intended), and won't let go. Vladimir Tod is a truly sympathetic character cursed with an existence not of his own doing, but doing his best to do the right thing. It's part 'Goosebumps' mixed with 'Harry Potter' and a dash – no, a heaping tablespoon – of Stephen King. If you're in eighth grade, or a vampire, or an eighth grade vampire, 'Eighth Grade Bites' is a definite must read!"~Butch Hartman, creator of Nickelodeon's THE FAIRLY ODD PARENTS and DANNY PHANTOM

"Eighth Grade Bites is a terrific vampire tale told with a sharp, middle-school grin. It definitely does not bite!" ~Christopher Moore, author of BLOODSUCKING FIENDS and A DIRTY JOB

"Eighth Grade Bites is a delightful novel filled with dark, biting humor that will appeal to everyone who ever felt they were different. A deft hand at depicting the angst of teen years, Heather Brewer does a wonderful job blending vampire legend with the modern day horror that strikes fear in the heart of so many: the eighth grade."~Katie MacAlister, New York Times-bestselling author of EVEN VAMPIRES GET THE BLUES

"Heather Brewer has invented the most endearing of vampires in Vlad, an eighth grader juggling the woes of adolescence with the decidedly unique difficulties of being a vampire. She perfectly captures the humor and angst of eighth grade, mixed with a nail-biting adventure. Utterly charming and irresistible!" ~Liza Conrad, author of HIGH SCHOOL BITES: THE LUCY CHRONICLES

"This book will fool you. Just when you think you've identified it as a story lit by the cheery glow of a slightly scary jack-o-lantern, it becomes something else -- a tale told by the flickering light of a dying campfire late at night. And the shadows are very dark indeed. A surprising mix of humor and horror." ~Douglas Rees, author of VAMPIRE HIGH

"Fresh and fast-paced, with just the right brew of chills and laughs. I’m looking forward to finding out what happens when Vlad hits Grade Nine." ~Nancy Baker, author of KISS OF THE VAMPIRE

"A fabulous book from a gifted storyteller! I never wanted it to end." ~Gena Showalter, author of OH MY GOTH
