What People Are Saying About 'Eighth Grade Bites'
"A spooky mystery that's funny, gruesome, heartwarming, spellbinding,
sad, joyous, surprising and topped off with a tasty blend of blood and
chocolate. Yum. What more could you ask for?" ~D.J. MacHale,
New York Times-bestselling author of PENDRAGON: JOURNAL OF AN ADVENTURE
THROUGH TIME AND SPACE
"'Eighth grade Bites' had me on the edge of my seat. It's a
great piece of fiction. It drops you right into the action, grabs
you by the throat (pun intended), and won't let go. Vladimir Tod
is a truly sympathetic character cursed with an existence not of
his own doing, but doing his best to do the right thing. It's part
'Goosebumps' mixed with 'Harry Potter' and a dash – no, a heaping
tablespoon – of Stephen King. If you're in eighth grade, or
a vampire, or an eighth grade vampire, 'Eighth Grade Bites' is a
definite must read!"~Butch Hartman, creator of Nickelodeon's
THE FAIRLY ODD PARENTS and DANNY PHANTOM
"Eighth Grade Bites is a terrific vampire tale told with a
sharp, middle-school grin. It definitely does not bite!" ~Christopher
Moore, author of BLOODSUCKING FIENDS and A DIRTY JOB
"Eighth Grade Bites is a delightful novel filled with dark,
biting humor that will appeal to everyone who ever felt they were
different. A deft hand at depicting the angst of teen years, Heather
Brewer does a wonderful job blending vampire legend with the modern
day horror that strikes fear in the heart of so many: the eighth
grade."~Katie MacAlister, New York Times-bestselling author
of EVEN VAMPIRES GET THE BLUES
"Heather Brewer has invented the most endearing of vampires
in Vlad, an eighth grader juggling the woes of adolescence with the
decidedly unique difficulties of being a vampire. She perfectly captures
the humor and angst of eighth grade, mixed with a nail-biting adventure.
Utterly charming and irresistible!" ~Liza Conrad, author of
HIGH SCHOOL BITES: THE LUCY CHRONICLES
"This book will fool you. Just when you think you've identified
it as a story lit by the cheery glow of a slightly scary jack-o-lantern,
it becomes something else -- a tale told by the flickering light
of a dying campfire late at night. And the shadows are very dark
indeed. A surprising mix of humor and horror." ~Douglas
Rees, author of VAMPIRE HIGH
"Fresh and fast-paced, with just the right brew of chills and
laughs. I’m looking forward to finding out what happens when
Vlad hits Grade Nine." ~Nancy Baker, author of KISS OF THE
VAMPIRE
"A fabulous book from a gifted storyteller! I never wanted
it to end." ~Gena Showalter, author of OH MY GOTH |

Nobody is leaving comments on my blog
This makes me a sad minion
Nightmares & Fairytales (vol 1-3) By FSc/Crab scrambly and Serena Valentino (though this is a comic)
Maximum Ride (1-3) By James Patterson
Elsewhere by Gabrielle Zevin
The Host by Stephenie Meyer
Project 17 by Stolarz (I can't remember her first name. ^^")
And maybe Johnny the Homicidal Maniac? But I'd highly recommend it for older readers. It's very philosphical, but also gorey. Also a comic.
That's all I can think of for now.
No vampire lover's reading is complete without Elizabeth Kostova's The Historian. Next to Dracula, I like that one best. However, it isn't for minions who cannot read on at least a high school level, as it is not YA. (Neither's Dracula.)
Not vampire, but very gripping is (YA) Verdigris Deep by Frances Hardinge. I thought the whole premise of this was very creepy.
And Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr (evil fairies, like Elizabethans believed in and not like Disney does) is very good, too.
The entire Maximum ride series By James Patterson(fang reminds me of Vlad)
The deathnote manga if ur into death related comics
and the twilight series
Oh, and for the slightly younger minions, the whole Witch's Sister series by Naylor is very creepy. She does not downplay the eerieness factor.
the midnighter series by scott westerfeld
the uglies series also by scott westerfeld
Burned by Ellen Hopkins(amazing writer!!!!!)
You dont know me by david klass
Memoirs of a teenage amnesiac by Gabrielle Zevin
The Blue Bloods books by Melissa De La Cruz
The Cirque Du Freak Series by Darren Shan
Snitch by Allison Van Diepen
The Last Dog On Earth by Daniel Ehrenhaft
The Sight by David Clement-Davies
The Fire Within series by Chris D'Lacey
The Improbable Cat by Allan Ahlberg
The Warrior Heir by Cinda Williams Chima
The Perfect Date by R. L. Stine
and last but not least The Wish List by Eoin Colfer
these are all really *awesome books some more than others(the improbable cat is pretty scary (i thiink))
but over all this is a really good list of book that came right off of my shelves. trust me, you should definetly read some if not all of these books:D you'll inhale these great books
*(as i inferred everything i have said about these books is all biased as i have already read these books and you may think that these books are extremely boring in the beginnning but when you get to the end they are really good)
twilight series by stephenie meyers
dragons keep by janet lee carey
and inheart series by cornelia funke are also very good options
