What People Are Saying About 'Eighth Grade Bites'
"A spooky mystery that's funny, gruesome, heartwarming, spellbinding,
sad, joyous, surprising and topped off with a tasty blend of blood and
chocolate. Yum. What more could you ask for?" ~D.J. MacHale,
New York Times-bestselling author of PENDRAGON: JOURNAL OF AN ADVENTURE
THROUGH TIME AND SPACE
"'Eighth grade Bites' had me on the edge of my seat. It's a
great piece of fiction. It drops you right into the action, grabs
you by the throat (pun intended), and won't let go. Vladimir Tod
is a truly sympathetic character cursed with an existence not of
his own doing, but doing his best to do the right thing. It's part
'Goosebumps' mixed with 'Harry Potter' and a dash – no, a heaping
tablespoon – of Stephen King. If you're in eighth grade, or
a vampire, or an eighth grade vampire, 'Eighth Grade Bites' is a
definite must read!"~Butch Hartman, creator of Nickelodeon's
THE FAIRLY ODD PARENTS and DANNY PHANTOM
"Eighth Grade Bites is a terrific vampire tale told with a
sharp, middle-school grin. It definitely does not bite!" ~Christopher
Moore, author of BLOODSUCKING FIENDS and A DIRTY JOB
"Eighth Grade Bites is a delightful novel filled with dark,
biting humor that will appeal to everyone who ever felt they were
different. A deft hand at depicting the angst of teen years, Heather
Brewer does a wonderful job blending vampire legend with the modern
day horror that strikes fear in the heart of so many: the eighth
grade."~Katie MacAlister, New York Times-bestselling author
of EVEN VAMPIRES GET THE BLUES
"Heather Brewer has invented the most endearing of vampires
in Vlad, an eighth grader juggling the woes of adolescence with the
decidedly unique difficulties of being a vampire. She perfectly captures
the humor and angst of eighth grade, mixed with a nail-biting adventure.
Utterly charming and irresistible!" ~Liza Conrad, author of
HIGH SCHOOL BITES: THE LUCY CHRONICLES
"This book will fool you. Just when you think you've identified
it as a story lit by the cheery glow of a slightly scary jack-o-lantern,
it becomes something else -- a tale told by the flickering light
of a dying campfire late at night. And the shadows are very dark
indeed. A surprising mix of humor and horror." ~Douglas
Rees, author of VAMPIRE HIGH
"Fresh and fast-paced, with just the right brew of chills and
laughs. I’m looking forward to finding out what happens when
Vlad hits Grade Nine." ~Nancy Baker, author of KISS OF THE
VAMPIRE
"A fabulous book from a gifted storyteller! I never wanted
it to end." ~Gena Showalter, author of OH MY GOTH |

I loved Ninth Grade Slays! For one now Vlad is in my grade which makes me very very happy.
2. I did NOT see the twist at all, I just couldn't believe it!
3. If anything like that happened to Vlad while I was around I swear I wouldn't have left his side until they forced me (I'm so weird like that)
I can't wait to see this codex and really hope that when it's made I'll be able to remember it, along with Spanish, and Spirtian (my friend made this up, it's pretty awesome).
And big news~ I got my hoodie and T-shirt!!! I was so excited I had to fight Sawyer to get them XD. So hopefully you'll see some more fan art from me to celebrate!
(Oh yes this is Froze8 or K8 I seem to have two accounts now...:/ )
The Vlad series is AMAZING! Duh! Lol. I like it because it's definately different from other vampire books, and there are fresh ideas that add an extra spice to the bloodwine. (btw, LOOOVVVE the cartoon!) Vlad's new abilities are amazing, and really made me jealous. Lol. Aww, poor Joss! *huggles Joss* I love Vikas. He makes me happy. Anyway, we all love your amazing works of art, Heather, so NEVER GIVE UP! Have a good weekend! ^,-,^
Yay, K8! Send me pics!
Noel, you are my new favorite person--NO ONE has so much as mentioned Vikas to me, and I love him dearly. It was hard to make Vlad leave Vikas behind, but I was so happy that he saw Vikas again by the end.
I will as soon as I can!
I haven't read NGS yet (I am waiting until I get into ninth grade ^_^) but my teacher likes it a lot! I really can't wait to read it! :)=
NGS was really good! i could kind of see the twist, like i knew something like that would happen. but i wanted more of Joss. i dodn't want him to go so early.
i love Vikas! he was a great character to be in the book. i can't wait for more of him.
i'm also very happy about Vlad & you-know-who!!!! i want more!!!! lol
so, Heather, i hope you are having fun and enjoying life.

P.S.- Happy Day Of Silence! what will you do to end the silence?

omg i love it!! i just finished it yesterday! i love joss. he was so awesome. ooh and vikas was cool too!! gosh, how much longer until TGB comes out?! lol ^_^ can't wait!
i still haven't been able to read it yet

Yours in Eternity
Yay, I feel special! Vikas is my new favorite character as of NGS. I seriously wanted to attack him with hugs. Lol. Aww, I feel left out! I'm already IN tenth grade! Ooohhh, I could get held back to be with Vlad! Lol, my parents would kill me. :'[ Yay for the goth kids! They sound amazing.
I am so in love with NGS!! As soon as i got the book from my aunt for Christmas I haven't put it down since!!! I can't wait to read the next book! Iv'e even turn my friends on to Vladimir and I'm writing my own story's about him. I'm also very curious...what's the next book going to be called?
the next book in the series will be called Tenth Grade Bleeds or the acronym is TGB and the release date is TBA (to be anounced):)=
Yours In Eternity
Does anyone know when TGB comes out?? I cant wait for it!!!
I saw the twist coming at page 87, but I think I'm a little older than the target audience (I'm 19), so that's okay (I also read alot, so I kind of can tell where things are going now >_<).
Also, Meredith is a nice girl and all but, it gets really tiring to keep hearing hoe great she is from Vlad's POV. Maybe in the next book you could tone Vlad's mushy feelings down just a little. I had to start skipping whenever he got mushy :/
Other than that, great book! This is one of the few book series that is currently running that I just have to buy and can call a favorite ^_^
