Ten Things
Happy Friday, Minions! Whew, I've been a busy ghoul lately. But there's always time for my Minion Horde. And today, I though we'd learn and have fun (next week will be more writing-based, I swear). So, without further ado, I give you two lists of extreme importance.
2. I used to chew my nails. Strike that. I used to gnaw my nails down to the bloody knuckles. But I'm better now.
3. I have such a strong aversion to speaking on the phone that I don't answer it unless I know who's on the other end (thank you, caller id) and know that if I don't pick up, I'm just going to have to call them back to discuss something Important. And I hate calling people more than I hate talking on the phone...so I may as well answer.
4. I can't sleep with my closet door open, nor can I sleep with any part of me hanging over the edge of the bed. Namely because Something Sinister lurks in my closet (near my shoes, I'm almost certain) and It's cousin lives under my bed, just waiting to snatch me away and eat my eyes. Or...something less crazy-sounding.
5. I despise the taste of peanut butter (unless it's Reese's).

3. The blood that Vlad eats? It comes from bagged donated blood nearing its expiration date...not that he doesn't find humans rather tasty looking.

5. Despite wearing black, hanging out at night, and drinking blood...he's not goth.

5 things you don't know about me:
1. I can ride a unicycle. Decided one day that I had to do it, got one, and taught myself. Now where did I put that clown suit so I can scare Auntie Heather...
2. I want to get a tattoo in the worst way... but I'm scared to death of needles. Now if I could just get it done on an airplane while querying an agent I could deal with all of my fears at once.
3. Love to travel... hate to fly (see #2 above). I love visiting new places, sight-seeing, museums... the whole thing. Except for the flying. *shudders*
4. I love dorky music... anything 80's, Hanna Montana and anything Radio Disney, Herb Alpert, etc. I am the antithesis of cool. I like dorky movies too - Joe vs. The Volcano, The Princess Bride, Better Off Dead, Army Of Darkness, etc. Some day in the near future my kids will figure this out and I will no longer be the favorite.
5. I'm going to be 42 this year. No one believes me, but it is true.

5 Things You Didn't Know About Me:
1) I met Russian boys in Leningrad who invited me to their high school dance in 1985.
2) I co-founded my university's first Gay Lesbian Awareness Day in 1987 (Happy 20th!)
3) My political life in the late 80s and early 90s included demonstrating in Washington, DC about everything: Central America, no nukes, the Gulf War, affordable housing, women's rights, GLBT rights and finding a cure for HIV.
4)The Thai Merchant Marines invited me to travel with them for a day on the island of Ko Samui.
5) I lived in Alnwick Castle, England, my junior year in college. The broom flying scene in the first Harry Potter movie took place in Alnwick Castle's courtyard.

The Leningrad high school dance was in 1987 (my second trip to the former U.S.S.R.)
Ewoh, you don't look 42 at all...and you should get some ink. Even if only once, to prove to yourself that you can do it. (I'm skeered of nedles, but have three tats. Trust me--they're like a cat scratch, really)

Heather, I love my Chemical Romance as well.
I don't have any tattoos, but I used to consider getting one, but I could not think of anything that I would permanently want on my body. When I was 21, I had an eyebrow ring though:*)
