Behold!

I'm feeling particularly brilliant today, my Minions. And for once, I have reason to! A) I had major change of thought process for DEVON'S PLAYGROUND last night (note to Minions: characters who suffer are more interesting), and B) I wrote a thousand words for MISS ELIZABETH'S FINISHING SCHOOL FOR GIRLS! (And no, I can't tell you what either is about just yet...but with any luck, I'll give you a glimpse soon)

And that's not all.

A few days ago, I bought my plane ticket for the best conference ever (it must be...I'm on a panel--and with the amazing Barb Ferrer, who wrote ADIOS TO MY OLD LIFE as Caridad Ferrer!), and yesterday I noticed that the fangtastic cover of EIGHTH GRADE BITES is now on Amazon--too cool! Aaaaand now that NINTH GRADE SUCKS has been accepted by my wonderful editor, my mind is racing with all sorts of thoughts on future books. Yay!

However...*insert forlorn sigh here...actually, wait, it's bigger than that...better make it fivelorn* I have a problem. Vlad is the laziest blogger on the planet. Lazier, even, than yours truly. So here's what I'm wondering, my faithful Minion Horde: what would you like to see on Vlad's blog? Or should I chuck the whole thing and put in an appearances page?

And remember, if there's something you want to read about, if you have any questons at all, I'm just an email (or a post reply) away.

I'd find someone else to make up stuff for Vlad's blog and run it past you to post.

Congrats all around on Miss E, NGS, and the eureka moment!

Maybe Vlad needs to get sufficiently pumped before posting. His big "turn out" is still months away. Maybe he's shy? Ask HIM what he wants. Maybe he'll even tell you. ;)

Wow, exciting days!

I agree with the marvelous Jackie.

Besides, Vlad's a teenager. It's his job to be inconsistent, try out new things, be distant, and then out of the blue become a great conversationalist/blogger. He may find that he's content just showing up here once in awhile. I'll appreciate whatever/however he decides to appear.

Good thoughts all around, Minions. I think for now I'll let Vlad post when he's inclined...but oooh, I really should add an Appearances section to my "Who's Heather?" page...especially now that I'll have appearances to list :)

If Vlad has time to blog, cool, but if it starts eating away at him, tell him to chill and do it when he has the time, and forget about it otherwise. Or maybe he can jot down a note here and there and post once every week or two....

I'll have to agree with the other folks as well. Let Vlad do as he feels.

Also, congrats on the EGB cover, NGS and MEFS. All good news :)

How is the new laptop working out for you?

Congrats on MEFS and NGS!! Can't wait to read them all! I agree with Jackie about allowing Vlad to tell you what he wants to do.

I have been a bad minion and reading but not posting. The new cover is great! Again, I will have to get a copy (signed) for pup's bookshelf.

You've just got good news abounding! How the heck can you stay goth like that?? *wicked grin*

Okay, the aye's have it--Vlad can do as he wishes with his blog. :)=

The laptop is working out well, Ewoh...apart from the increase in typos (grrrrr). And the quiet keys took some getting used to!

How can I stay goth?? Why, that's easy...I'm a perky goth. I've become so dark that I've punched through to the other side. :D

But seriously, goth is an attitude, and that I have in abundance. ;)

LOL... I've been typing on laptop keyboards for so long that a regular keyboard messes me up :)

I honestly don't care what you call yourself, as long as you keep being you and keep writing that'll be just fine with me :)

What People Are Saying About 'Eighth Grade Bites'

"A spooky mystery that's funny, gruesome, heartwarming, spellbinding, sad, joyous, surprising and topped off with a tasty blend of blood and chocolate. Yum. What more could you ask for?" ~D.J. MacHale, New York Times-bestselling author of PENDRAGON: JOURNAL OF AN ADVENTURE THROUGH TIME AND SPACE

"'Eighth grade Bites' had me on the edge of my seat. It's a great piece of fiction. It drops you right into the action, grabs you by the throat (pun intended), and won't let go. Vladimir Tod is a truly sympathetic character cursed with an existence not of his own doing, but doing his best to do the right thing. It's part 'Goosebumps' mixed with 'Harry Potter' and a dash – no, a heaping tablespoon – of Stephen King. If you're in eighth grade, or a vampire, or an eighth grade vampire, 'Eighth Grade Bites' is a definite must read!"~Butch Hartman, creator of Nickelodeon's THE FAIRLY ODD PARENTS and DANNY PHANTOM

"Eighth Grade Bites is a terrific vampire tale told with a sharp, middle-school grin. It definitely does not bite!" ~Christopher Moore, author of BLOODSUCKING FIENDS and A DIRTY JOB

"Eighth Grade Bites is a delightful novel filled with dark, biting humor that will appeal to everyone who ever felt they were different. A deft hand at depicting the angst of teen years, Heather Brewer does a wonderful job blending vampire legend with the modern day horror that strikes fear in the heart of so many: the eighth grade."~Katie MacAlister, New York Times-bestselling author of EVEN VAMPIRES GET THE BLUES

"Heather Brewer has invented the most endearing of vampires in Vlad, an eighth grader juggling the woes of adolescence with the decidedly unique difficulties of being a vampire. She perfectly captures the humor and angst of eighth grade, mixed with a nail-biting adventure. Utterly charming and irresistible!" ~Liza Conrad, author of HIGH SCHOOL BITES: THE LUCY CHRONICLES

"This book will fool you. Just when you think you've identified it as a story lit by the cheery glow of a slightly scary jack-o-lantern, it becomes something else -- a tale told by the flickering light of a dying campfire late at night. And the shadows are very dark indeed. A surprising mix of humor and horror." ~Douglas Rees, author of VAMPIRE HIGH

"Fresh and fast-paced, with just the right brew of chills and laughs. I’m looking forward to finding out what happens when Vlad hits Grade Nine." ~Nancy Baker, author of KISS OF THE VAMPIRE

"A fabulous book from a gifted storyteller! I never wanted it to end." ~Gena Showalter, author of OH MY GOTH
